The quote request kicks off a federally-regulated coverage placement. Once we have the authority, equipment, and lane mix, we pull the panel of specialty trucking markets quoting the class and walk through the trade-offs before you bind. Two pieces of the placement are worth understanding up front.

The BMC-91 or BMC-91X filing. Interstate motor carriers must have proof of public liability coverage on file with FMCSA before authority activates. The carrier files the BMC-91 (single-policy) or BMC-91X (layered-policy) on your behalf; if the filing lapses or is cancelled without a replacement, your authority can be revoked. We handle the filing end-to-end as part of the placement.

The MCS-90 endorsement. The MCS-90 is a federally-mandated endorsement attached to the trucking auto liability policy. It backstops public-liability and environmental restoration claims when the underlying policy denies coverage — paying the injured third party first, then seeking reimbursement from the motor carrier. Understanding what the MCS-90 actually does (and does not do) is part of the quote call. See the trucking auto liability page for the longer treatment.
